The Liverpudlian Indie band share their backstage secrets.
Of the hundreds of music festivals that set up stage across the country every summer, Glastonbury is the daddy of them all. But the notorious British weather and sheer size of it (some 180,000 people will congregate on Worthy Farm towards the end of June) means you can’t just turn up with a tent, some cans of Beavertown IPA and hope for the best. You need a plan for everything from your sartorial choices to personal hygiene.
It can be an overwhelming experience, so in the lead-up to Glastonbury, MR PORTER will be asking for survival tips from some of our favourite artists playing the Greatest Festival On Earth.
First up, it’s Mr Kieran Shudall, frontman of Circa Waves, the Liverpudlian indie act that has seemingly risen out of nowhere to be crowned guitar music’s young hope, with second album Different Creatures released earlier this year. The Other Stage is certain to be going off on Friday afternoon at 3.00pm.

What is your number-one item for Glastonbury?
__
My Chelsea boots. They can last through the sticky mud and still look cool as fuck.
What do you like to eat and drink?
__
Last time, I took my own blender and we made frozen margaritas all day. I was seeing twice the number of fans by the time I got on stage.
What’s your fail-safe outfit?
__
Chelsea boots, Levi’s 510s, All Saints shirt. Sorted.
How do you make sure you don’t lose your friends?
__
They all tend to hang around the free booze backstage. Never too tough to find.
How do you handle the Portaloos and showers?
__
Don’t have a shower. Embrace the sweat. The backstage Portaloos are pretty sound.
