New bars, restaurants and hotels open in cities seemingly every day. So, despite the fact that our Style Council members regularly update their favourite places to eat, drink and stay in our address book – it can be a little tricky to keep up sometimes. So goes the thinking behind our series where we ask our well-connected friends on the Style Council for up-to-the-minute suggestions on the places they know best. This time, we're heading to LA for the weekend. So we contacted ex-LA Galaxy soccer pro and LA local Mr Robbie Rogers for his current favourite spots in town.
Where to eat

“This is a lovely little French bistro in West Hollywood. It feels like a really cool dark bar when you enter, but then you get escorted to the back where they serve really great food. I love the steak frites. They have butter from Normandy which is delicious. It has a fun atmosphere, too, so would be a great place for a date.”
Where to drink
The Sunset Tower Hotel

[Top US hotelier and restaurateur] “Mr Jeff Klein has redone the lounge bar of The Sunset Tower Hotel. It’s super cool now and one of the best spots in LA to grab a drink.”
Where to stay

“It’s a little out of the way, but I would stay at the Nobu hotel called Nobu Ryokan. It’s beautiful, very peaceful and right on the water.”
What to do
The Staples Center

“Go to a Lakers game! The team this year is fun and young and Staples Center always puts on such a show. If they aren’t doing well it’s still great for spectators and downtown LA has the best restaurants for dinner before or after the game.”
