Mr Alex Gartenfeld is the artistic director of ICA Miami, helping lead the creation of the institution, its building and mission. He oversees the museum's exhibitions, collections, educational and public programs and publications. Mr Gartenfeld has organised major exhibitions for Messrs Terry Adkins, Paulo Nazareth, Sterling Ruby, Ettore Sottsass and Mses Judy Chicago and Andra Ursuta, among many others. He co-organised the first showing of major early works by Mr Donald Judd, and a spotlight on late works by Senga Nengudi; and he was co-curator of “Songs for Sabotage”, the 2018 New Museum Triennial. Mr Gartenfeld also has some upcoming solo exhibitions for the work of Mses Janiva Ellis, Chakaia Booker and Shuvinai Ashoona.
