The original Pastis opened in 1999 in the Meatpacking District and became an instant fixture on the NY dining scene. It closed in 2014, but five years later acclaimed restaurateurs Messrs Keith McNally and Stephen Starr reopened their creation in the same neighbourhood, and Manhattanites still love it. It’s a French brasserie lovingly designed down to the tiniest detail. The food is still a roll call of Gallic classics (oysters, steak-frites, onion soup) and it’s still somewhere to be seen. A classic reborn.
