A slice of 1920s Havana in Manhattan.
BlackTail’s Latin aesthetic is inspired by the many Americans who headed to Cuba’s rum-soaked shores during Prohibition. Brass plaques bearing the names of some of them, including Messrs Ernest Hemingway and Al Capone, are inlaid into the bar. Unsurprisingly, many of the cocktails are rum based. Alongside classic mojitos and daiquiris, you’ll find Gravy Trains (bourbon, rum, banana, pineapple, lime, cinnamon, black pepper and nutmeg) and Tear-Jerkers (rum, pisco, pear, lemon, vanilla, macadamia, cherry and absinthe).
