Pick a bottle from the terrific wine list and watch as the chefs cook your fish – sourced daily from around the British Isles – in front of you. The selection of small plates coupled with the restaurant’s relaxed atmosphere makes it an excellent choice for a quick bite to eat or for a longer, more drawn out affair.
We might be in the heart of Soho and not beside the seaside, but this freshly opened branch of the Fitzrovia “shack” has plenty to invigorate the senses. Sit at the bar, order an onion Martini (trust us) and pick from a menu of fishy titbits, including a fine selection of oysters, hand-cut crisps with taramasalata, charcoal-grilled monkfish and chilli cuttlefish. Whisky fans should cast their net into the dessert menu and pull out a cranachan cheesecake or a whisky ice cream.
