Whilst I was at Art Basel Hong Kong this year, I was reminded of the amazing restaurant Otto e Mezzo. It is ridiculously good. Book as early as when you book your flights!
Named after Mr Federico Fellini’s 1963 film (Eight and a Half), this is a solo venture from chef Mr Umberto Bombano, who’s often named among the best Italian chefs working in Asia. Its culinary attractions are beyond doubt: it’s the only Italian restaurant outside Italy to possess three Michelin stars; its kitchen uses the best of local and Italian produce in its modern creations; there’s an ageing room to keep some rare cheeses in perfect condition; and what’s more Bombano was named Worldwide Ambassador of the White Truffle in 2006 – a high accolade indeed.
