Mr Oscar Isaac

We could devote a full best-dressed list to Mr Oscar Isaac’s sartorial choices as of late. And while the drape-y coat, shirt and trousers combo in coordinating brownish red tones he wore at the premiere of Moon Knight was particularly fit for the occasion, we’ll give top marks to the double-breasted suit he wore for a recent screening of HBO’s Scenes From A Marriage in New York. Sometimes, all you need to be the best-dressed man in the room is a navy suit, after all. He paired this subtly pinstriped number with a colour-coordinated knit and Montblanc’s 1858 Iced Sea Automatic stainless-steel timepiece.

Mr Paul Mescal

It was always going to happen. Without warning, that ex – the one you had a brief but intense relationship with, but haven’t thought about in a while – resurfaces in your timeline. And they have the temerity to not only be doing perfectly fine without you, but to also look, well, great. Better than ever, even. So, just as we’re working our way through a new adaptation of a Ms Sally Rooney novel, Mr Paul Mescal reminds us of what we’re missing out on. Sure, that the social occasion he’s rocked up to is a Gucci joint, hosted in an imposing 13th-century citadel in southern Italy, doesn’t hurt. Plus, the brand’s forthcoming collaboration with adidas, showcased here, could have been forged with him in mind. But, really, did he have to look so damn good with a moustache?

Mr Ben Schwartz

Saying “people don’t wear ties anymore” is enough to make you sound (in your head, at least) like every cliché of a stiff old so-and-so shaking his fist at these young kids and their trendy ways. But look at Mr Ben Schwartz. Has an outfit ever been so obviously structured around a tie that just… isn’t there? We have to say hats off (fedoras, presumably) to his gumption. Everything else is sharper and more polished than a diamond district counter, from the pristine collar to the burgundy slip-ons that he later shed to demonstrate his dance-floor moves on Jimmy Kimmel Live! One note, if we may: lose the phone – we can practically read your WhatsApps from here.

Mr Omari Douglas

Often, we see people standing on red carpets wearing some clothes that they have obviously thought a lot about (or paid someone else to) with an expression that suggests they are not having a nice time. Or what they are doing is somehow profoundly important. Mr Omari Douglas’ face tells us a different story. He is clearly having the time of his life, and understands that standing on a red carpet in some clothes is not really doing the Lord’s work. We salute the attitude. It goes extremely well with that cream flared suit.

Mr Callum Scott Howells

It’s been quite the year for Mr Callum Scott Howells. Since gracing our screens with his gut-wrenching performance in Mr Russell T Davies’ It’s A Sin – which we still haven’t emotionally recovered from – the young Welsh actor has garnered a host of accolades. And while the breakout star’s role was firmly rooted in the 1980s, his latest look from this year’s Virgin Media British Academy Television Awards is 1970s through and through. From the peak lapels to flared flowy trousers and a purple pussy-bow shirt to match, the full Valentino look is anything but a sin. (We’re here all week.)

Mr Harry Styles

Upon the release of his new album, music critics were quick to lavish praise on Mr Harry Style’s confident lyricism, vocals and showmanship. We, on the other hand, were far more interested in the former boy-bander’s latest slew of outfits. This is, after all, the man who singlehandedly made quirky knitwear covetable and had us raiding our granny’s knick-knack drawer for strings of pearls. Thankfully, the ultimate millennial dandy did not disappoint, stepping out in one of his signature cardies, but unexpectedly dialling things down with a white tee and sneakers. As for colourful bead necklace and the 1970s-style wide-leg jeans? Obviously, we’ve already added them to our Wish List.

Mr Pierce Abernathy

Culinary influencer and model Mr Pierce Abernathy serves up a look that really shouldn’t work: two different plaid patterns, a purple fringed jacket embroidered with flowers and a green baseball cap is not usually a recipe for a best-dressed outfit. But when you consider that this is a Gucci ensemble – a perk of walking in the brand’s SS22 “Love Parade” show, as Abernathy did last November, perhaps – from the whimsical mind of one Mr Alessandro Michele, then it all falls into place.
