Five Things For: A Laid-Back Summer Holiday

As summer inches ever closer, we’re helping you to get your wardrobe ready by bringing to your attention a few of our favourite pieces available to buy right now at MR PORTER. Looking for a go-to name for off-duty staples? New York brand Corridor might just be it. Founded by former FBI analyst Mr Dan Snyder in 2013, it’s all about easy-wearing garms in well-chosen and responsibly sourced fabrics. This camp-collar short-sleeved shirt, made in India from an open-weave “broderie anglaise” cotton, is a case in point.

The wear-all-summer Kardo shorts
New Delhi-based brand Kardo is the antithesis of fast fashion, taking its time to make clothes properly. Each garment is made by a single artisan – their name is written on the label – and the results speak for themselves. We’re rather partial to these lilac and pale-pink checkerboard shorts in a breezy, loose-weave cotton.

The beach-ready LOEWE tote
Always a big highlight of the summer collections, LOEWE’s annual collaboration with the legendary Ibiza boutique Paula’s channels the laid-back, bohemian spirit of the White Isle through pieces such as this spacious raffia tote bag. The brand name spelled out on the canvas trim adds a stylish finishing touch.

The Officine Creative suede sandals
The classic two-strap sandal may have been made famous by Birkenstock, but the German brand is far from the only choice on the market. These beautifully crafted grey suede sandals come courtesy of Officine Creative. Note the lack of metal hardware on the straps, which lends them a sleek, streamlined appearance.
