We asked two well-travelled gentlemen for their post-Ramadan trip tips. Read below to find out where some of the world’s most successful men like to go (and what they like to do) to celebrate the start of Eid.

“After Ramadan, I am planning to go to one of my favourite, recently-discovered destinations: Sicily. I went last year for the first time because Fly Dubai opened its route there last summer. The flight from Dubai lands in Catania airport, the island’s second-largest city.

“Thanks to the food, people and nature on the Mediterranean’s largest island, I had one of my best trips ever last year, so I am going again, but I plan to do more daring activities. I want to hike up the volcanic Mount Etna, and drive further around the island.

“Last time, I discovered the southern part of the island: Noto, Siracusa, Sciacca and Agrigento. I might repeat the incredible stay I had in the most luxurious resort in Sicily: Rocco Forte La Verdura. It was a rejuvenating experience; but what I am definitely going to experience again is the drive I did to a small fishing village in the most southeast tip of the island called Marzamemi. I ate in a Michelin Guide-recommended restaurant called Taverna La Cialoma.

“This time, I will drive north towards the island’s largest city and the capital: Palermo. It was Italy’s cultural city last year and, since then, the art and culture scene has been evolving beautifully.”

“This Eid, I am planning to visit the beautiful island of Bali. I always compare Bali to Dubai as a lot of new bars, restaurants and hotels open all the time. This is not my first time visiting Bali and I usually stay in a villa with friends. This time I have decided to visit the well-known W Bali in Seminyak as it is conveniently located and beautifully designed. The entrance itself is worth the visit and the hotel facilities are amongst the best on the island.

“My favourite places for breakfast are Sisterfields and Monsieur Spoon located in Seminyak. For lunch, I would probably go to Sea Circus for a nice salad or the newly opened The Lawn in Canggu. Dinner is my favourite part of the day as there are so many options in Bali. My favourite spot is undoubtedly Nook, with its stunning terrace overlooking the rice fields. But Bali is all about sunsets. If you are looking for a sundowner followed by dinner, you must visit Potato Head or Kudeta. Both have an infinity pool and the view is spectacular.

“My favourite places to watch the sunset while sipping a mocktail are La Plancha, El Kabron, La Laguna and La Brisa. You may want to check Tropicana, too, Bali’s newest venue. If you want to spend a nice day at the beach, I recommend Karma Kandara Resort. There’s a lift that will take you down to the white-sand beach and crystal-clear water. If you are more into chilling at the pool, then check out Mrs Sippy and why not try a back flip from its 5m-high plunge.”
