IWC SCHAFFHAUSEN introduced its first aviation watch in 1936, which this 'Pilot's' model pays tribute to, both aesthetically and in its 36mm case size. The simple navy dial has a slightly recessed inner circle ensuring the Arabic numerals and dauphine-shaped hands are easy to read. Encased in stainless steel, it's powered by the house's calibre 35111 automatic movement, which is intricately patterned using Côtes de Genève and perlage techniques. The soft-iron inner case offers protection against magnetic fields, while the sapphire crystal lens will remain secure even after a drop in air pressure at extreme altitude, so it'll hold its own should you wish to take it on a test flight.
