Mackintosh

In Glasgow in 1824 Mr Charles Macintosh invented a waterproof fabric, smart enough to wear in the city. His invention achieved such popularity that today Mr Mackintosh’s surname is often used as a generic term for any raincoat, although those by the Mackintosh label are the true originals.
