Portland, Oregon was a hotbed of experimentation in the '90s – Nike was creating sneakers that pushed the bounds of contemporary footwear. This 'Air Rift' pair is the brainchild of designer Kip Buck, who wanted to replicate the natural motion of barefoot athletes with the lace-less, split-toe construction. They're made from leather and have secure VELCRO®-fastening straps.
