Throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, peacoats were worn by sailors and seafarers to protect them from the elements. Inspired by the caban – a favourite of the French Navy – Valentino Garavani's is made from wool and has a classic, double-breasted profile with a 3X2 button front. Layer it over a turtleneck for a refined take on nautical style.
