Back To Cool Playlist

Words by Mr Tom M Ford

24 September 2014

When things were a little warmer, we tasked a selection of song-savvy tastemakers to show us how to really celebrate summer, with tracks from the likes of Mr Desi Young and Jungle making the sun shine that little bit brighter. Now, as the days draw in (and our Out Of Offices are switched well and truly off), we look to the tracks that will take us through autumn. And for a real audio antidote to those post-summer blues, we thought we’d turn to a professional.

As one of the most active music supervisors working in film and television today, Mr Randall Poster knows a thing or two about how to set the right tone. As you might expect from a man who has recently worked on The Grand Budapest HotelThe Wolf of Wall Street and _Boardwalk Empire _(for which he won a Grammy), the playlist he has put together for MR PORTER is less a Best of 2014, and more an era-spanning soundtrack – effortlessly blending hip-hop, punk rock and soul. Scroll down to check out his first 10 track choices, and head over to Spotify to listen to the whole selection.
