Sitting across the IJ from Amsterdam’s main station and the famed canal rings, Sir Adam is very obviously distinct from the townhouse hotels that dominate this city’s tourist trade. Designed by New York agency ICRAVE, it instead has more of an industrial feel, with concrete pillars, mismatched furniture and record players setting the tone. The Hub workspace is made with startups in mind, with ample distraction in the form of bar/restaurant The Butcher Social Club’s pool and ping-pong tables.
