The idea behind  has always been a simple one. It is, in essence, the MR PORTER team’s ideal wardrobe. Launched in 2017 and built around a backbone of high-quality basics – those elementary items of clothing that every man should own – alongside timely seasonal “drops”, it is also a brand with a unique point of view.

It goes without saying that when you’ve spent as long as we have thinking, writing and dreaming about clothes, you pick up a few things along the way. Designed with the wealth of experience, expertise and know-how our team have acquired over their many years in the style business, it was born out of a desire to offer men the clothes they have always wanted when they want them.

Since Mr P.’s debut, our dedicated team of designers have used the mantra “easy pieces, smart details, enduring style” as guiding principles for everything they do. So, as well as boasting the best-quality fabrics and finishings, every facet of the Mr P. line is the subject of numerous debates and discussions about the all-important details, those seemingly small and insignificant features that, when done right, sort a so-so garment from its superior. And, given the reaction from you, our happy shoppers, it’s proof that all that time we spend agonising over cuff length, buttonhole placement and linings, is well worth it.

The , which launches today and introduces a series of timeless, luxury pieces, has not been spared our signature fussiness or fastidiousness. We’re more than a little proud of the finished articles – each one crafted by a handful of the most sought-after artisans in the world using the very finest raw materials – which include pure camel-hair , hand-split cashmere and immaculate tailoring.

And while it’s all very well admiring the end result, we understand that, much like the food you eat and the news you read, it’s more important than ever that you know where your clothes come from. Here, in our latest film, we pull back the curtain on a few of the new pieces in the line, delve into the details and meet the makers and producers in the Scottish Highlands and Sicily who have brought our vision for Mr P. to life.
