It’s been a little while since we’ve had a significant drop of Porter-Yoshida & Co – our favourite cult Japanese accessories brand. So it is with some pleasure that we welcome some new pieces on site today. This tanker padded shell tote bag, in our opinion, is the best of the bunch. We particularly like the fact that it looks like a reimagined MA1 bomber jacket. But we appreciate, too, that it is utterly practical – capacious and understated as it is. Keep things cool (and Japanese) by pairing it with this suede bomber from Beams Plus.

A scarf with a sophisticated design on it such as this, by traditional English brand Drake’s, is an easy way to enliven any outfit. Especially during the winter months – and specifically as we move into January, which can feel like one long grey-tinged hangover after all the festive fun we hope you’re currently having. Wear it with a smart blazer such as this one from Boglioli to add a rakish air to a more formal look.

One of the most practical elements of a man’s wardrobe is the trusty umbrella, which is often neglected as a necessary tool to battle the elements rather than an opportunity to express some personal style. But, especially if you live in a country where the climate is on the damp side, we suggest you put a little more thought into something which will assist you so loyally. With this umbrella from Burberry, we’re thinking: go big or go home (and fetch a hooded waterproof coat instead). Understated, this is not. Fun and stylish: it is.
