The shirt, shorts and suit from the Parisian label that we want to wear right now.

There are many words to describe the stylish array of wares you’ll find on MR PORTER’s shelves. If you’re looking for something “maximalist”, say, a silk shirt printed with a rich variety of floral motifs, we’ll point you in the general direction of  or . “Classic”? Well then, we’ll likely usher you towards or ’s tailoring departments. Ask for something “easy”, however, something that’ll slot seamlessly into your existing wardrobe and takes, on average, all of two seconds to upgrade whatever it is you’re currently wearing, then there’s one brand that springs to mind: .

Effortlessness is what the Parisian label trades in: wear-anywhere with that love-worn broken-in feel and what might, just possibly, be the best selection of smart-casual shirts you’ll find in one place. It’s not big, but it is clever. And it’s precisely the type of laid-back, no-nonsense stuff you’ll want to wear when the sun starts to shine. For anyone still basking in the afterglow of a glorious bank holiday weekend, then, we’ve hand-picked a trio of pieces from our latest capsule collection with the label that’ll make dressing for summer a breeze.

THE SHIRT

It’s hard to imagine a time when  were not a pre-requisite for summer. Like ice-cream cones or condensation-coated cans of beer, they’re just part of the seasonal scenery these days. How to explain their persistent popularity? Our main theory rests on the fact that they’re as easy to wear as a T-shirt, but just a tad more put-together. This palm tree-printed example is certainly Hawaiian in spirit but the subdued navy palette gives it a smart feel.

THE SHORTS

Yes,  are inherently summery. But we’re conscious that they’re not for everyone. If you’re one of those people who wears them with confidence, you’ll be pleased to know this example ticks all the boxes on the “perfect summer shorts” checklist: relaxed cut, practical fabric and, crucially, a drawstring waist. But it’s the subtle bandana-inspired print that sets them apart – a simple, but highly effective upgrade from plain pairs.

THE SUIT

The terms “pinstriped ” and “relaxed” are rarely uttered in the same breath – the former being historically associated with Wall Street fat cats and City types. But this is a pinstriped suit like no other. Tailored in the label’s characteristic unstructured cut, it’s made from a summer-weight woven fabric made with linen and cotton and is completely unlined to reduce the risk of overheating in the pub beer garden… sorry, we mean office.
