Introducing Mr Serge Najjar, the Beirut-based lawyer and photographer who can turn buildings into works of art.
Lawyer by day, extraordinarily talented photographer by night, Mr Serge Najjar manages to capture seemingly mundane features of buildings and turn them into stunningly graphic images. His Instagram feed is predominantly focused on human figures leaning out of tiny windows or juxtaposed against dramatic architectural structures to create scenes you can’t quite believe are real. But there’s no Photoshop work here: Mr Najjar’s motto is, “It’s not what you see, but the way you see it” – and, quite frankly, we couldn’t agree more.

WHO?
__
Beirut-based Mr Najjar started taking photos for Instagram only six years ago. It’s something he enjoys doing in his spare time to escape his stressful job as a lawyer.
WHAT?
__
His feed is more than just architecture; he focuses on “geometry, shapes, textures and lines”. His favourite thing to photograph is “the effect of light and shadows on our surroundings”.
WHY?
__
He was drawn to photography by his “love for details”, which he finds “as inspiring as he does thought-provoking”.
HOW?
__
Preferring to keep his feed completely natural, he says the camera is his favourite editing equipment and he doesn’t use any hashtags. His top photography tip? “Always avoid clichés.”
WHO ELSE?
__
He recommends checking out the monochromes of @kristinenor.
