Bestia
Restaurant, Downtown, Los Angeles

Rustic Italian cooking meets US industrial design at Bestia. Surrounded by former factories and warehouses in LA’s downtown arts district, it’s all exposed brickwork, unfinished ceilings and chandeliers made from meat hooks. As well as the usual pastas and pizzas, Mr Ori Menashe serves up cheffy twists on classic dishes, such as beef heart tartare and sautéed chicken gizzards. Bestia is loud and always packed, so book at least a week ahead, and you may find yourself sharing a table with Messrs Sacha Baron Cohen or Quentin Tarantino.
