THE JOURNAL

As you can see from my Wish List below, I am a minimalist. I’m usually drawn to timeless staples but this year I am making a special effort to add some more colour to my suitcase. I might not be totally there yet, but a printed T-shirt is a good first step, right? Here’s what I’ll be taking on my summer holiday.
The T-shirt
This T-shirt by Pasadena Leisure Club is part of MR PORTER’s exclusive summer capsule collection, The Tee Store, and would be ideal with a pair of shorts on warmer days. The retro-style “Team Sports” print is starting to make me think that a game of beach volleyball might actually be a good idea.
The shorts
These shorts are durable, comfortable and look as good thrown on to go to the beach as they do for a mid-summer dinner. I know I’ll be wearing these all summer long (and probably for many more after).
The sunglasses
Classic and cool, these SAINT LAURENT sunglasses are perfect for throwing on to read a book by the pool or hiding tired eyes after one too many cocktails. I’ll try especially hard not to lose these ones.
The swimwear
Another thing that will cure a hangover? A bracing dip in the nearest body of water. These Orlebar Brown shorts are just the ticket for a swim in the sea or lounging by the nearest rooftop pool.
The suitcase
Holiday essentials sorted, now something to pack them all in. With its slick aluminium shell, Fabbrica Pelletterie Milano’s Spinner suitcase is as hardy as they come, providing piece of mind when it’s slung in the baggage hold. Inside, there’s dividers to keep the contents in good order.
