Chef Mr Tomos Parry made a name for himself cooking at the instant-classic Kitty Fisher’s in Mayfair and, without a single misstep, opened his first place in Shoreditch to great acclaim. The Michelin star didn’t take long to arrive and, although Brat ticks many of the current trends boxes – counter dining, cool location, food cooked on coals – it has serious expertise in the kitchen to back it up. The menu reads simply (lamb chop, lemon sole, ice cream), but order with confidence because everything’s done with enough prowess to elevate it to exceptional.
