What To Wear To The Airport This Summer
Words by Emma Pradella

The flights are booked, suitcases packed and you have downloaded seven hours’ worth of podcasts, but you are not truly ready to leave until you have decided what you are going to wear at the airport. Dressing for travelling is an art, not a science. You want to prioritise comfort and ease – slip-on shoes and elasticated waistbands for gliding through security, lots of layers to shield you from the turbo-charged air-con – but you don’t want to look like you have just rolled out of bed. Getting it right typically involves some trial and error. Mostly error. It doesn’t have to be this way. Here are five ways to style out the departure lounge.

01.
The Brunello Cucinelli cashmere zip-up
Nothing says luxury quite like Brunello Cucinelli’s cashmere loungewear. This zip-up hoodie is great for throwing on over a T-shirt or lightweight knit when the air-con requires an extra layer.

02.
The Acne Studios logo sweatshirt
With a graphic logo splashed across the chest that contrasts boldly with the bright-green jersey, Acne Studios’ sweatshirt is a great choice for anyone who doesn’t mind standing out in the queue for security.

03.
The Balenciaga oversized hoodie
Balenciaga’s hoodie is designed in the kind of slouchy, oversized proportions we’ve come to expect from the brand’s creative director, Mr Demna Gvasalia. He has been refreshing the brand’s logo, too, as the collegiate-inspired emblem on this hoodie attests.

04.
The AMIRI drawstring shorts

05.
The Les Tien loose sweatpants
Made in a Downtown Los Angeles workshop, Les Tiens’ Puddle sweatpants take their name from the way the hems “puddle” over your sneakers. This dusty blue colourway is a pleasing alternative to the ubiquitous navy or grey.
