One of my favourite recommendations!
Spanish-German chef Mr Juan Amador’s perfectly executed restaurant is set within a working vineyard in a prosperous suburb in the north of Vienna. The dining room’s in a vaulted cellar and a drinks are taken on a terrace by the vines. The out-of-centre location means it’s a locals’ treat-night special, but they don’t have it all to themselves. The three Michelin stars attract visitors from far and wide and when you try the cooking you’ll know why. Imaginative but never overly fussy, it draws on central Europe’s very best ingredients and is matched ably by the 1,000-strong-plus wine list. One for the oenophiles, on many levels.
